an elegy for a cicada.i'd read that saying something three times makes it come true, like a spell, an enchantment. a curse.

i'm not saying that i ever found truth in those words, but when i was seven i wrote my wishes down three times on purple stationary and tucked them into drawers where they lay forgotten, and last night i woke up in a cold sweat and dug them out and smoothed their creases.

i had written, "i don't want grandpa to die/i don't want grandpa to die/i don't want grandpa to die," but he's buried beneath some marble slab and you are here, painful and human and blood and bone and your heart is going to break when she dies an an elegy for a cicada.

Yay Thanksgiving!!! ^_^

So i'm a vegetarian = no turkey for me

otherwise it was a pretty tasty day

so i know i keep promising to submit more stuff, but it might be a while still. finals have been rushing up and i'm pretty far behind in my literary fiction and climatology courses. we're going ahead with one of my surgeries the 18th of December which means i have all of break to groggily sit on my behind and go through the 3,000 some pics i've piled up in the past few months...yes you aren't going blind, i've been a little shutter bug and some really good stuff should appear eventually...now if only i could figure out the magic of editing lol ^_^

i hope all 9 of ya have had a really good turkey day and are running a mile or two tomorrow haha
